The real estate market throughout Fort Worth is active and thriving. Opportunities abound right now for moving-up to larger, newer homes. Many new home additions have been started in the past few years and some are still expanding. First time home buyers have been entering the market, inspired by low interest rates and affordable housing. This trend is allowing owners of smaller properties to purchase larger homes, which fuels an ongoing residential upgrade spiral. Like “musical chairs”, people are changing places while still leaving a few empty ones available. Add to this the new homes from the builders along with steady population growth and low cost purchase money, and you have the formula for a booming real estate market that’s expected to continue well into next year.
Dallas-Fort Worth area builders sold 11,196 homes in the third quarter of this year, an increase of nearly 7.5 percent from the previous year. During the same period, about 20,714 pre-owned homes were sold — that’s 2 percent below 2003 levels. The number of pre-owned houses on the market in North Texas grew in September — up 4 percent to 41,594 homes listed for sale. The median sale price of pre-owned houses fell by 3 percent from a year ago to $134,900. Through the first nine months of 2004, there was no real change overall in local home prices.

Fort Worth Texas is a wonderful combination of the “old west”, modern culture and space-age technology. Fort Worth was established in 1849, originally as a U.S. Army Fort to protect the area.

Report From Star Telegram.
Bill Miller, 817-390-7684

FORT WORTH — A truck driver was taken to the hospital and traffic was delayed when a tractor-trailer wrecked Friday morning on Interstate 35W in north Fort Worth.

Police said the wreck was reported 10:45 a.m. at Western Center Boulevard, police said.

The southbound rig, loaded with building supplies, slid into a retaining wall and the cab went over the side, said Fort Worth Police Sgt. Mark Allen.

Other motorists, Allen added, stopped and helped the driver climb out of the dangling wreckage.

He was able to walk and speak, but he appeared to be unsteady so he was taken by ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital to be evaluated, Allen said.

Meanwhile, he added, accident investigators were trying to figure out what caused the wreck. “For some reason or another, he locked his brakes up,” Allen said. “Some witnesses said another vehicle might have pulled in front of him.”

The tractor-trailer skidding across two, maybe three lanes of traffic before going over the wall, Allen said.

He noted that the rig had just been refueled, so crews were busy Friday afternoon cleaning spilled fuel at the scene of the wreck.

Traffic was allowed to continue in the southbound lanes, but debris from the wreck blocked the exit ramp to Western Center Boulevard, which delayed traffic until it was cleared, Allen said.

Vice President Dick Cheney is in Dallas today as part of a 2-day trip to Texas. Fort Worth resident Barbara Newton (Short Sale Realtor) was on a list of a few invited gusts who looked on as the vice president and Mrs. Cheney arrived at Love Field this morning.
Vice President Cheney will stay overnight in Dallas, and then heads back to Love Field in the morning to take off for a stop at Fort Hood where he’ll rally the troops. Then, Cheney heads to Midland for a reception for Senator John Cornyn.
Officers escorting Cheney’s motorcade wore black tape over their badges in honor of fellow officer Victor Lozada.

Richard Bruce “Dick” Cheney[1] (born January 30, 1941), is the forty-sixth and current Vice President of the United States. As Vice-President, Cheney is also the President of the United States Senate.

Cheney was born in Lincoln, Nebraska but soon relocated to Casper, Wyoming where he grew up. He began his political career as an intern for Congressman William A. Steiger, eventually working his way into the White House during the Ford administration where he served as White House Chief of Staff. In 1978, Cheney was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Wyoming; he was reelected five times, eventually becoming House Minority Whip. Cheney was selected to be the Secretary of Defense during the presidency of George H.W. Bush, a position he held for all but two months of Bush’s term. During this time, Cheney oversaw the 1991 Operation Desert Storm, among other actions.

Out of office during the Clinton presidency, Cheney was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halliburton Company from 1995 to 2000.

Cheney joined the presidential campaign of George W. Bush in 2000, who selected him as his running mate. As Vice President, Cheney remains a very public and controversial figure. He continues to assert that the Iraq War and War on Terror must be won by the United States, and many of his other policy recommendations initially drew strong approval, but in his second-term disapproval of his performance has outweighed approval, as measured by national polls. Cheney is generally acknowledged to be one of the most powerful and influential Vice Presidents in U.S. history!

Borrowed on White House.gov
Vice President Richard B. Cheney has had a distinguished career as a businessman and public servant, serving four Presidents and as an elected official. Throughout his service, Mr. Cheney served with duty, honor, and unwavering leadership, gaining him the respect of the American people during trying military times.

Mr. Cheney was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, on January 30, 1941 and grew up in Casper, Wyoming. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s of arts degrees from the University of Wyoming. His career in public service began in 1969 when he joined the Nixon Administration, serving in a number of positions at the Cost of Living Council, at the Office of Economic Opportunity, and within the White House.

When Gerald Ford assumed the Presidency in August 1974, Mr. Cheney served on the transition team and later as Deputy Assistant to the President. In November 1975, he was named Assistant to the President and White House Chief of Staff, a position he held throughout the remainder of the Ford Administration.

After he returned to his home state of Wyoming in 1977, Mr. Cheney was elected to serve as the state’s sole Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was re-elected five times and elected by his colleagues to serve as Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee from 1981 to 1987. He was elected Chairman of the House Republican Conference in 1987 and elected House Minority Whip in 1988. During his tenure in the House, Mr. Cheney earned a reputation as a man of knowledge, character, and accessibility.

So for how much will the American political realestate be going for?

February 152010

Now that corporations have unlimited access to influencing government, how long before china, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and EU pipeline their agendas through the corporations, of their prospective countries.

a) 1 years (congress)
b) 3 years (presidency and congress)
c) 5 years (congress )
d) 8 years (presidency and congress)
e) ?

By the way, you can thank republicans for putting America up for sale to the international community. America will now be expected to tap dance to the tone of the highest bitter. Now it is officially a whore.

Get ready people, because the New World Order is upon us. And republicans have put them on the drivers seat.

We used to have statesmen,
then they became politicians,
now they will become prostitutes.
Court ruling was 5 (republicans justices) vs 4 (democrat justices).

I think not. And the word you are looking for is bipartisan. It was all republican manure.
@Cosmic

I think not. And the word you are looking for is bipartisan. It was all republican manure.

A partition is a division of one whole. Its when you fraction one thing in to separate slices.

trust me – it was bi partition all the way and still is.

If a majority of Americans (currently 30%) become obese, can they vote to make it considered "normal" BMI?

February 92010

See:
http://promo.realestate.yahoo.com/americas_most_obese_cities.html

When a majority of people have a certain condition, it becomes the norm, hence it is "normal".

Therefore, if more and more people are qualifying as "obese", and eventually they become the majority, then obesity will be the norm, and everyone who is less than obese will be considered "underweight".

As a majority, they could even vote and pass laws that restructure the BMI charts altogether, making it illegal to discriminate against overweight people (particularly via health care costs), and even make the term "obese" a hate crime equivalent to the "N" word.

I’m not obese, but I have a lot of friends and family who are (technically) but I actually don’t see them that way. I see them as normal, nice people. And a lot of them are incredibly healthy overall and actually pretty active. They just have European and Latino genetics as their curse. I never thought it was fair to punish them for their genes.
So it would be a fitting turnaround if they became the majority and became the "norm".

no because then that would give people who have weight issues another excuse.
