I am looking to rent a house on Long Island, but don’t want to have a real estate person involved and have to pay fees and deal with them. I am looking to rent directly from an owner. Where can I search to find this type of rental?

idk if you can just drive around and look for a sign that says for sale by owner i recommend you use a agent because people usually think there home is worth too much if you change you mind use http://www.realtor.com/

Find out what the local newspapers are in Long Island and get a copy either online or through the normal channels.
In other words: go over the classified section of a local newspaper.
